A father denounces the surcharge imposed by airlines for traveling with their children

There are many families with children who on vacation choose fly to various tourist destinations. We have already seen on some occasion, that traveling by plane with children is not easy, but in recent weeks a new controversy has been added: cost over some airlines They are asking to fly in a seat next to the son.

Being adults, flying separately from the person or people who accompany you may be indifferent, but when we fly with children it is unthinkable that they have to do it in a seat alone, away from their parents. Is it fair for a family to have to pay a plus for sitting all together?

If he wanted to sit with his two children, he had to pay more

There have been several cases of denunciation through social networks that have been published in recent weeks. Indignant parents because despite having bought the tickets at the same time, at the time of sitting them placed in separate seats, offering to pay an extra if they want to fly all together.

One of the cases that have become more viral in recent weeks is that of Carles Romero, a father from Tarragona with a 13-year-old son with Down Syndrome and another eight-year-old, who bought the tickets in Vueling to enjoy together to her children, her partner and her daughter, from a vacation in Italy.

Upon check-in, he realized that they had been assigned separate seats and claimed the company which offered him the only solution to pay a surcharge of 15 euros per person if he wanted to get correlative seats.

But Carles, what I had never had a similar problem before On his plane trips, he decided to share his story on his Facebook page, as a way to report the abuse of certain airlines for something he considers a right.

"How will only my disabled child or my eight-year-old child fly? It is not understood in any way! Who will attend them if an incident arises during the flight or if they have to put the mask for a problem of depressurization in the cabin? It is illogical, and we should all complain more so that this kind of thing does not happen "- explains Babies and More.

But Carles did not give up, and after many unsuccessful phone calls to a 902, he got three consecutive seats to travel with his younger children, but not with his partner and his nine-year-old daughter who had to fly separated between them by a corridor.

Two days after publishing your complaint on social networks, and when it had been shared and disseminated by thousands and thousands of people, the company contacted him apologizing and assigning, quickly, without complications and without additional charges, five correlative seats on your return trip.

The new "fashion" of low cost companies to raise more money?

Users complain that this change in the seat allocation policy is something that has been going on for a relatively short time since before, when you bought for example four tickets at a time, the correlative seats were assigned

The @Ryanair with the seats has no name! They make you pay for sitting next to your companion or they put you on the other side of the plane!

The most serious of this is that in many cases there are semi-empty rows or with several free seats in a row, so the situation is even more outrageous to passengers, who consider that "random" way of distributing seats as a commercial strategy to pay extra if you want to sit next to someone specific.

And the worst, on boarding you realize that there are empty places next door, forward, etc., where they could travel together ...

My partner is given 16B, to me 17B. And it turns out that in seats 16A and 17A there was another separate couple. But they say they don't want to

But when there are children or disabled people involved, this extra is understood even less. How is it possible for airlines to force parents to pay a fee for traveling next to their child?

@flywithlevelES LAMENTABLE. Flight BCN OAK family of 4 with my disabled child with brain damage and put us in separate seats.
