Surely when you were little you saw in the window of a toy store one of those models of trains full of details with trains that were circling in a small track circuit. Surely you also remember it with fascination, because at that time it seemed wonderful.
Well, something like that should be felt by the brothers Federico and Gerrit Braun in childhood, because more than ten years ago they thought of making a model of the world as large as possible, as detailed as possible and with more life than any other model.
They came up, and they got it, because they created "Miniatur Wonderland", the largest model in the world, being one of the most visited attractions in Germany. It has more than 1,300 square meters and every year more than one million people enter its facilities To contemplate the world in miniature.
As you can see in the video, subtitled in Spanish, known areas of the United States, Switzerland, Scandinavia, Germany and the Austrian Alps have been recreated. There are more than 700 trains with more than 1,000 wagons (the longest train is 10 meters long), 250,000 lights that are controlled by a system that mimics day and night and hundreds of scenes such as accidents with emergency equipment that come, fires, etc.
Now the brothers are preparing new spaces to reach 1,800 square meters, incorporating details from France, Italy and the United Kingdom.
