The Minister of Health announces that the autonomous communities unify the ages of childhood vaccination

Ana Mato, Minister of Health, Social Services and Equality, commented that the Plenary of the Interterritorial Health Council has reached an agreement on vaccines and ages at which childhood vaccines will be put.

The deadline given for this unification will be in 2013, when the autonomous communities agree on this issue. The minister wanted to highlight that it is a historical consensus, because for the first time, all the autonomous communities have agreed to make effective common vaccinations at the same ages. He has also explained that a technical study has been requested for the 2013 calendar proposal.

At first year of life Newborns and two and six month olds will be vaccinated with hepatitis B (HB), with an implantation period of one year. Vaccination against meningococcus C (MenC) will be at two and four months, with an implantation period of one year.

From three to six years the children will receive the fifth dose of reinforcement of the DTPa and the second dose of the triple viral between three and four years, with an implantation period of three years.

To the 14 years The booster dose of tetanus and diphtheria vaccine will be given.
