We invite you to have a nutritious, fun milkshake ... and above all very spring

Surely at this time you thought we had forgotten our Spring theme that we bring promptly (or almost) every Wednesday. If a few weeks ago we talked about one of the "star" fruits of the season, today I want to bring you one of the innumerable uses of the 'queen' of the season: cherry.

They are very beneficial fruits because they provide vitamins such as folic acid, fiber, minerals and antioxidant photochemicals. In fact (and with respect to the latter) if you pay attention to your body, you will realize that as soon as it starts to get hot and we notice 'how the sun burns', we feel like eating cherries (used to prepare our skin) and carrots or tomatoes (which protect it against the action of ultraviolet rays).

Our proposal is a fresh smoothie, tasty and easy to make, with it you can improvise a snack for the children's friends, surprise your guests with a dessert served in a glass or have breakfast on a hot Sunday morning.

Ingredients (for four glasses):

  • 750 ml of cold milk, a natural yogurt, four tablespoons of sugar, 500 grs. of cherries, some ground cinnamon, and (optionally) chocolate noodles or a spoonful of grated coconut.

How to prepare the smoothie:

First we have to wash and bone the cherries carefully, we reserve them in a bowl. Then we pour the milk, yogurt, sugar and cinnamon into the blender glass, and begin to beat at medium speed. When the mixture is done we can add the cherries and beat again until they are crushed.

Now you are ready to serve in the glasses, and (if you want) you can give it a special touch sprinkling with chocolate noodles or grated coconut.

It can be prepared with both arm blenders (although in this case you should use a glass of 1500 milliliters or a large bowl) so that the milkshake does not come out, as in those of 'jug'

Recommendations:

  • After having passed through the blender can be strained before serving in the glasses: In this way the mixture is finer by removing the skin pieces. This is not essential, in fact my children like it more with skin (because cherries eat them that way too), but when they strain it, it also acquires a better presence.
