The Madrid Book Fair It was inaugurated on May 25 and as always located in the Retirement park. The event attended among other personalities, the Princes of Asturias of Spain to those who can be very attentive to the evolution of the kids in one of the spaces enabled for children. And it is that in the Fair in addition to seeing, buying and chatting with the authors of the books it is possible to access pavilions specially designed for children.
One of them is that of the Mapfre Foundation which has created the Pavilion for Children's Activities with the main objective of promoting reading among children. In addition, an extensive program of workshops and free activities related to literature, art, music and theater will be held. until June 10, 2012. There will be storytellers recounted by Ana Cristina Herreros, Gabriela Waisberg and Nelson Calderón. There will also be many more activities that can be found on the Mapfre Foundation site, including school visits, so I imagine that kids will be going through the Fair all week.
One of the activities organized by the Foundation is that on Saturday, June 2, at 6:00 pm, the comic "Venice. An underwater adventure" will be presented. It is a work written by the collective of authors and publishers of Ultraradio comics, and by the children who have participated in the workshop "How do you make a comic?" held in Madrid on the occasion of Children's and Youth Book Day. As I said, all the activities of the Foundation are free.
We have already been. We did it last Saturday, May 26. We went to complete Gerónimo Stilton de la Peque's collection. In my case I decided to go see Santiago Auserón who signed a book with his songs as Juan Dog. I was lucky to chat with him while he signed the book to the whole family, he thanked us for the visit and wished us good luck.
And that is the Madrid Book Fair, a place to walk around, see books, buy them and enjoy with your favorite authors talking with them or simply transferring the admiration you feel towards them. And for children it is the time when they can learn to recognize the value of books and can also identify their authors.
