Crafts back to school: color storage boats

The back to school Children have made pencils from under the stones in our house. Do not tell me that you do not spend the day collecting pencils, chalk and colored markers for every corner of the house. The other day I found some old jars whose lid was starting to get ugly and I decided recycle them. And since it is not the thing to buy plumiers, I decided to give them a touch of color and create these boxes for colored pencils. The idea is very simple, a pair of glass or plastic jars that have a lid, a little chalk aronfix, some washi tape (which is not lacking in any craft) and a touch of imagination.

Necessary material

  • Glass or plastic boats
  • Slate adhesive paper (we can also use slate paint *)
  • Colored chalks
  • Washi tape or colored threads to decorate

How to make pencil cans

  1. We start by clean the boats well with water and soap. We make sure they are very dry.
  2. We cut a piece of slate paper (It will serve as a label to name the boats). The we hit in the center of the boats.
  3. We decorate the tapas with washi tape, if the tape is narrower than the cover, we will put two strips on top of each other, we will make sure to fit the drawings so that the separation is not noticed.
  4. The we fill with colors, pencils, chalks or any other material that your child uses to do his school crafts and we put them in his room or playroom.
How my son is still too young to do wellI left a piece of slate and hooked it on the table where I was working so I could paint and have fun. Of course, he drew balls and invented that he played what he called "jugai a GOL" (that is, playing football). Then I left him a glass jar with his slate label so that he himself drew what he wanted on his own, I asked him to paint a drawing simulating colored pencils and the other to store his small toy strollers. The good thing about these tags is that you can change the name whenever you want, you just have to erase what you have written with chalk, clean the board with a damp cloth and rewrite with chalk. * If you wanted, you could also use slate paint, it seems more original and beautiful to me but since I already had the adhesive paper at home, I had to take advantage of it. To paint slate on glass, you have to put some painter's tape in the pot forming a rectangle. You paint with the help of a brush and give it a couple or three layers.
