Children's workshops in the Costume Museum of Madrid

How did our grandparents dress? How is the costumes in the cinema? What famous costumes can we see in the pictures? These are some of the curiosities that children can learn in the Costume Museum of Madrid Thanks to the children's activities it organizes.

Throughout the year we can live a "Family weekend", aimed at children and families, a different leisure and fun alternative for everyone. A lot of play and experimentation achieve excellent learning that is complemented by direct contact with the pieces of clothing and ethnology.

In this way the visit to the rooms is complemented to know the background of the Museum's collection with the game, the workshop itself, which parents and children carry out.

In addition, this summer children from five years can learn the secrets of fashion in the workshops organized in the Costume Museum. From the end of June until mid-July we will have different children's workshops (this time the children do the activity without the company of the parents) through which they will learn and have fun:

  • Entrepinceles: It has as its starting point famous paintings of the history of art in which fashion has a special role. Through reference paintings, children will learn the history of clothing in an entertaining and educational way (from June 26 to July 12).

  • Costumes, camera, action !: Through this workshop the children will learn the peculiarities of the first films in history and their relationship with fashion. Screening of silent films and optical toys for traveling at the beginning of the 20th century (from June 28 to July 13).

These children's workshops in the Costume Museum of Madrid They have a duration of two days, in the morning (09:00 to 14:00 hours) and are free.
