Parents who do not control their children on the internet may be fined

A few months ago we wanted to know the opinion of an expert on the subject of internet, children and how it can affect them to have access to social networks. We saw that it was more dangerous than many thought and that is what they should think from the government, when deciding that parents who do not control their children on the internet can be fined.

This is what at least the new Law on the Legal Protection of Children and Adolescents says, whose final text is not yet approved, but which aims to allow parents to be responsible for our children making good use of the internet and They are thus protecting their privacy and that of third parties (which sometimes is no longer what they do, but also what they hang from others).

Possible fines

Failure to comply with the law by parents will be considered a minor offense and may be fined for an amount of up to 300 euros. The question in this regard is how they will assess whether parents are aware or not of what their child is doing on the computer.

In the event of serious damage for not complying with the obligation to monitor the children, the fine may amount to 3,000 euros, considered a serious offense. If the damage is considered difficult or impossible to repair, the infraction can be classified as very serious and the fine can be up to 60,000 euros.

The objective, as I comment, is that parents watch over their children and that children, bouncing, make proper use of the internet, safeguarding your data, your privacy and also that of your friends (or not so friends).

But they are still very young

Yes, I am aware that our children are still very young and that the risk for now is little. Let's say right now we have more danger parents, hanging photos of our children that may affect their image, but I wanted to explain this by showing again the importance of having a little control, since even now, they are small, there are portals, games and clubs that request our children's data, and when they already know how to write and enter these sites they can start communicating with other people, leaving messages, and if we register them everywhere with joy and carelessness we can show them that there is no risk in leaving leaving our data on the network, such as if nothing.

For some time now, I have not registered them at all. I register myself, with my name or with an invented one and I see where they get (with the iPad there are also games that promote interaction with other children). At the same time, I am explaining the dangers of talking with other people if we explain according to what, that the medium does not know how to write yet, but the older does.
