Hundreds of schoolchildren from around the world helped to wake up Rosetta

Probe Rosetta just woke up after 31 months of hibernation in deep space. From ESA they encouraged schoolchildren from around the world to participate in a video contest with fun content and whose theme was to stage what needs to be done to wake up Rosetta. The contest involved countries not only from Europe, but from other continents such as Colombia, Canada, Africa and even from the city of Hong Kong. In the end they were generated more than 200 entries and more than 75,000 votes Among the whole community. Among the most voted, the fourth, has remained the Spanish of the Public School Peñaluenga that can be seen below and that is very lively, collaborative and with rocket alarm included.

For the THAT The result is very satisfactory and exceeds your expectations because the goal was to record a movie with the mobile screaming Wake up, Rosetta! and finally creativity, collaboration and the final result has been a success. Especially from the European Space Agency they have valued Rosetta's fantastic models, animated stories with elaborate script, materials, music and even the choreography in which hundreds of schoolchildren have participated.

Next is the winning video, by number of votes, which is very elaborate, with much collaboration and with a radiant illusion to wake up Rosetta. It is from the Greek school Ellinogermaniki:

On the ESA page below you can see other creatives made. The ten most voted videos will be transmitted to the universe through one of ESA's deep-space antennas. The authors of the ten videos will receive a gift bag with ESA material and the two videos with the highest number of votes will visit the ESOC Control Center, the ESA Operations Center, in Darmstadt, Germany. From there they will celebrate the first landing on a comet that is expected to occur in November 2014.

And now that we have Rosetta awake, we hope that the next milestone, the encounter with comet 67P / Churyumov-Gerasimenko, which is expected to arrive in May 2014, will be a success.
